As the International Retail Franchise Manager of this great brand you will be a part of the International Master Franchise team in Amsterdam. You will work with the Franchise Area Managers to maximize sell-through and profitability of the existing portfolio of Franchise stores. You deliver positive LFL each year through steady increase of KPI’s, elevate retail standards and develop the store portfolio, in order to strengthen the brand in the franchise countries. You will be part of a strong experienced team and must be able to fit into a fun and fast-moving work environment and must work with a team first approach, creating results together. Key aspects of the role are;
>to drive performance management and implementation of projects to improve performance and KPI’s (mystery shopping, loyalty programs, incentives)
>Own stores budgeting process and forecasting
>Create blueprints, playbooks, operational tools, policies & procedures;
>Organize training support for new and existing stores

Other tasks & responsibilties of the International Retail Franchise Manager:

  • Performance Management:
  • Drive the development, implementation and upgrade of key commercial programs to support the performance of the stores and achieve positive LFL growth.
  • Work with the franchise partners on setting annual, monthly and weekly targets for the franchise stores. Include retail sales and KPI’s targets
  • Define/Maintain budgets per store / per country / per partner (Sell In). Monitor forecasting process and ensure alignment with Finance
  • Retail Standards: Provide direction, support and action to elevate retail standards across the portfolio
  • Assist with the Store Opening Process and ensure all support is being given to open the store on time and according to standards
  • Secure full understanding of concept within the Area Managers so they supervise the stores accordingly
  • Identify and plan store maintenance and refit programs
  • Training and Development: Support on-boarding program for new franchise partner team members (head office)
  • Provide leadership to the Area Managers in country. Ensure Area Managers are ‘Ritualized’ and coached on operational standards, Shop Rituals, training programs, etc.
  • Work with Retail Training and Development to review all training initiatives and adjust according to the franchise needs and requirements
  • Together with partners draft a country training plan including annual training calendar for the franchise stores, training programs and implementation dates
  • Store operational excellence: Develop and implement blueprints, playbooks, operational tools, policies & procedures in alignment with owned retail and relevant to franchise
  • Work with all franchise stores to achieve compliance of operating standards and consistently execute policies and procedures through frequent visits, coaching and use of reporting tool
  • Coordinate store development process/projects with Project manager and assist with the Store Opening Process and ensure all support is being given to open the store on time and according to standards

Position of the International Retail Franchise Manager within the organisation:
You will report to the Head of International Franchise, and you will work closely with the different departments in the Head Office and the Franchise teams in the countries. The role is global, with a focus on Middle East. You will be the main liaison with the following functions: Finance & Business Intelligence, Training & Development, Marketing & Promotions, Retail Operations, Store Development & E-commerce

Job Criteria International Retail Franchise Manager

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree qualification desirable or similar years’ work experience
  • 6 years plus retail leadership experience preferably as retail and or area manager and preferably in the fashion apparel or cosmetics industry
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role or managing a broad portfolio of stores at mid-management level and experience with international store openings
  • Complete understanding of retail business models, metrics and profitability requirements
  • Team Player, results oriented, consumer focused, commercial thinker, strong leadership skills and relationship management ability
  • Cross-cultural skills and flexible approach, strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and accuracy, Entrepreneurial mindset and a pro-active approach to business, ability to work on own initiative
  • Feels challenged and excited about turning a no into a yes, overcoming obstacles
  • Excellent command of Dutch & English (other additional languages are an advantage)
  • Strong knowledge and application in Excel, Word, Power Point, and database management tools
  • Living in the Netherlands, close to Amsterdam, while working at the HQ is in the city center
  • Able to travel (40%)
